Jason is the Vice President of Finance at AVAIO Capital and focuses on all areas of finance and accounting. Mr. Melita is an experienced accounting professional with 12 years of experience in a variety of finance, operations, and accounting functions.
Prior to joining AVAIO, Mr. Melita was an Investment Officer with the Connecticut Retirement Plans & Trust Funds where he was responsible for all aspects of investment accounting for the approximately $44 billion of pension assets, including over $6.5 billion within private markets, real assets, and infrastructure.
Prior to CRPTF, Mr. Melita was a manager within the Assurance practice of PwC from 2011 to 2014 and 2016 to 2020, where he focused on the private equity and asset management industry. From 2014 to 2016, Mr. Melita was a senior accountant with Carlyle’s Emerging Sovereign Group and the assistant controller of Meghalaya Partners, where he focused on fund accounting and operations.
At AVAIO, Jason is responsible for all aspects of investment accounting, firm operations, and finance, both in North America and Europe. He also manages the tax and compliance functions for the organization and its affiliates.
Education: Mr. Melita holds a B.S. in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and maintains an active CPA license with the State of Connecticut.
