Matt Cox is the Vice President of Construction Accounting at AVAIO
with 10 years of experience in real estate finance.
Before joining AVAIO, Matt was the Vice President of Accounting and Finance at
Brookfield Properties in the Logistics Sector. During his time at Brookfield, Matt
built the accounting function from the ground up for a national portfolio with total
development costs over $3 billion. He partnered closely with senior management
on forecasting, budgeting, and business planning, and led ERP and workflow
implementations for the company's logistics group, helping standardize processes
and strengthen controls across a complex, multi-project national portfolio.
Prior to Brookfield, Matt was a Senior Accountant at Wood Partners, where he
managed general ledger accounting, loan draws, and equity capital calls for
multifamily development projects across Arizona, Southern California, and the
Pacific Northwest. He began his career as an Assurance Associate at EY, conducting financial statement audits across real estate, manufacturing, oil and gas, and nonprofit clients.
At AVAIO, Matt is responsible for managing the general ledger, budget and cost
management, and reporting for all data center construction projects.
Education: Matt graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of
Science in Accounting and International Business and a Master of Accountancy.
Matt maintains an active CPA license with the State of Georgia.
