Mr. Nesel is responsible for leading AVAIO’s data center projects through the development process. He brings construction management and microchip manufacturing experience from AECOM and Global Foundries, respectively. At AECOM he developed and negotiated guaranteed maximum price contracts for large scale construction management projects including the 1,401’ tall One Vanderbilt, the 2.16M SF three-towered residential development Waterline Square, and JP Morgan’s full-block 1,388’ tall headquarters in NYC and managed the company’s risk committee process to vet proposals and track key project metrics during construction across US asset classes.
At AVAIO, Tom handles the day-to-day on several projects from zoning, to land and environmental studies, to utility and local jurisdiction coordination, community engagement, power procurement, site planning, and data center design. He also manages budget related processes across AVAIO Digital’s platform.
Mr. Nesel brings a process-oriented background and technical expertise from his studies in Environmental Sciences and Engineering at Harvard and his time as a manufacturing process engineer. He also served as Co-President of Row New York’s Associate Board, a community organization that offers an academic preparedness and competitive rowing program to youth at no-cost.
Education: Tom graduated Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Sciences and Engineering with a citation in French.
